Well, I’m a twenty-something young woman living in the same small town I was born and raised in. I have a BA in Historic Preservation from the University of Mary Washington, which I’ll probably never use professionally. I work in the family business, which happens to be a somewhat large and ever-growing recycling company. I love what we do, and I love knowing that we’re making an impact not only locally, but globally.
I’ve just moved into my first house, which is a c. 1947 1,400 sq. foot cape cod colonial revivalish home. I absolutely love it and I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences in fixing it up.
I’m an avid home sewer and beginning gardener. I’m a vintageophile and have a bizarre fondness for 1940’s and 50’s material culture. I have a small but growing antique collection, and can be found digging through boxes and poking through shelves at almost all of the local antique stores, flea markets, and thrift shops.
I’m a psuedo hippy, a wannabe 1950’s housewife, an environmentalist, and a history nerd. Basically, I’m a whole lot of a lot of things that dont quite seem to go together, but they do.
I look forward to being able to share my experiences with gardening, sewing, environmentalism, home improvement, and just life in general. Please feel free to coment, I look forward to hearing from others in regards to their experiences as well.
